Schedule your Pool Opening Now

This year it seems like winter keeps hanging around like the obnoxious guy at a party who just won’t leave. With brisk temperatures still in the air, you probably aren’t ready to start thinking about opening your pool. We would encourage you not only to start thinking about it, but to actually get your pool opening scheduled now. April is the perfect time to open your pool. At a moments notice, winter will finally decide to leave us for good and warmer temperatures will be here. As soon as those warmer temperatures hit, so will the algae growth. Opening a pool with water that has already turned green starts your pool season with an uphill battle. An April pool opening gives you a jump start on algae growth and will make opening your pool much easier and cheaper.

Opening your pool is also like most other things, if you don’t do it now it will get put off to the last minute. You will find yourself with a pool party scheduled, that seemed like it was a long way off when you scheduled it, but now it is coming up THIS weekend and your pool is still closed. Don’t let that be you. We recommend opening your pool at least 2 weeks before your pool party. This will allow plenty of time for all of the debris that is stirred up during the pool opening to settle and be vacuumed away so your pool will look great in time for your party.

At Aqua pools we offer two different opening packages.

  1. The first is a complete opening which includes removing the winter cover, putting in any ladders and handrails. Then we will remove all plugs in the lines, and start up your filter system. We will also start up the heater then shut it down, unless told otherwise. We can add the opening chemicals as well, if that option is chosen.
  2. The other option we offer is a cover off opening. We will remove all plugs in the lines, start up the filter system, and start up the heater. After starting up the heater we will shut it down unless told otherwise. We can also add the opening chemicals if that option is chosen.

With both options vacuuming is NOT included. We do offer a trash vac service to be done at a later date when everything has settled to the bottom of the pool. When we trash vac we bypass your filter system so your filter equipment won’t be affected by all the debris which collected over the winter.

No matter which option you choose, we strongly encourage you to schedule your pool opening now so you won’t find yourself disappointed later.
